I will be flying home to my beloved East Vanistan in less than two weeks’ time! Cannot wait. Going to consume so much sushi and drink so many soy lattes - and snap lots of photos, but of course! In the meantime, stay warm, friends, and please do submit your photos of East Vanistan!
Mmm mmm mmm, East Vanistan has some fine food. Addis Cafe offers up delicious flavours from Ethiopia, including the tantalizing injera bread. As an intriguing aside, one almost imagines injera bread and East Vanistan as naturally united, since injera bread is gluten free and naturally high in iron.

East Vanistanis quite like their pastries. In fact, baked goods come in only slightly below coffee, organic produce, and yoga mats in a recent poll of East Vanistanis about what material goods mattered most in their lives. Fortunately, The Drive is dotted with a plethora of bakeries catering to all of our various dietary and aesthetic needs.
As previously mentioned, East Vanistan is really a City of Cats. We love our kittehs. We love to see them roam wild and free, and then return home to their post-consumer recycled scratching posts and bowls organic, gluten-free cat food for some good East Vanistani snuggles. Happy Caturday, friends.
